What’s On – Sullivans Taproom

OKTOBERFEST 2024

This year Oktoberfest is celebrated from 21st September to 5^th October in Munich. To celebrate Sullivan’s Taproom & The Wine Centre are throwing a massive party on Saturday 5^th October again, with a few tweaks to last year’s event we’re sure you are guaranteed good times.

Our German celebration will involve an extra tap this year bringing the German Draught selection in Sullivans Taproom to six, some of which are hardly ever available in Ireland by the pint. The Wine Centre will be filling ever inch of the shop with even more rarities to enjoy at home.

All that beer will make you hungry, and we’ll make sure you stay fed through our usual banging menu of hand stretched pizzas, burgers, wings & more from 12pm. As well as all of that, you can try out our pork schitnzel special and smoked meats from Kilkenny’s newest and most exciting food pop up, Grill Billy (@grillbilly.ie)

Entertainment wise, DJ Paul Kavanagh has graciously returned to get you started on the decks at 3, after him we’re bringing up some old friends from Cork – all 17 of them to get the party hopping at 7. They go by Boolaboom Brass Band – check them out on insta if you want to get excited – @boolaboom.

Our Wheel of Fortune will be back with a new lick of paint spinning from 9pm with beer inspired prizes. One litre Steins will be available on a deposit return scheme. (God Bless DRS!)

This is a free event to attend with no bookings available. Kids are welcome until 4pm and Dogs as long as they’re comfortable. Costumes Encouraged.

It was a nice place with enough space for lots of people and Highly recommended if you have kids and need a place for Lunch. They have nice food including good pizza. We are down here for the weekend for my partner's. Birthday and after having a very disappointed time in another place where the service was dreadful we decided to stop in on sullivans bar when we heard the music but unfortunately the music was ending but decided to have a few drinks and were served by Diarmuid. The sevice from himself was exceptional not just to do with getting our drinks but taking the effort to write a few things down for us when we asked where was nice to visit and telling us a wee bit of history about the place which was was very interesting to hear. We had a lovely sunny afternoon in the outdoor dining area. Excellent friendly and prompt service (very important with young children) from Diarmud and Stacey. Lovely selection of beers on tap (Dorcha Weizen 👌). Being local, we'll be back again.
